Howdy all,

I am due to have my elecsa assessment in the next couple of months and i need insurance as i am no longer covered by the company i worked for. What insurance companies do people recommend and what cover. I will only be undertaking domestic installations,no commercial or industrial. Any advice would be appreciated

Thank you

you need 2 mill. public liability. as for professional indemnity, discuss that with your assessor. you don't need it prior to assesssment. sure there is a forum for insuraqnce for electricians here, or try any broker, even the meerkat.

constructaquote.com

about £65 for the year, 2 million P liability........check them out for a price, however direct line say they will beat any other quote in writing?

AXA insurance for PL 2 mill cost me about 6 quid a month in my first year.

Professional indemnity about 18 a month for 500,000 (what a rip, though it is aggregate but still what a rip!) from HISCOX that was the best quote I could find, but you won't need that if you're not doing PIRs and PATs, which if you don't have a fair bit of experience I hope you won't be doing.
