I have been asked to get a list of qualifications that i will need to become a domestic installer in Scotland.
I am a below the knee amputee and i am looking to get back to work. I am interested in becoming an electrician i have no experience and for now just want to be a domestic electrician to see how i can cope and get on with it after many years out of work and struggling with PTSD. I have been reading books and watching many youtube clips that have kept my mind focussed and have given me a goal to aim for.
I know i would need 18th edition Regs passed but can i just do a domestic installer course, i then can get hands experience to learn more each day.
Or do i need to have level 2 and 3 diploma? any information and advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

if you want to just work in the domestic sector, in England the short course and membership of niceic or other scam will suffice. Scotland has different rules. suggest you hang around for one of our barbarian members to post.
