what quals do you need for competent person scheme

ive got my 17th edition nvq level 3 am2 passed jib registered just wondering if this is enough to join upto a scheme

You have more than enough the basic is the EAL VRQ then within 12 months the 17th.

No mate not for part P and if you were doing domestic only the 2392 is sufficient.

so how do people who wire houses sign there work of if they do not have any testing certificates

2391/2392 is for PIR jobs first fix ect is an EIC certificate which after being assessed you are deemed competent to complete without involving building control.

that to me just sounds crazy lol its such a grey area so i can do first fix second fix and test my own installs when on part p in domestic properties then u need ur 2392 to do pir reports can u do board changes without 2392/1

PIR's are a whole different ball game compared to EIC.

With PIR's you need to know what faults too look out for, which with a rewire there should not be any.

As for changing a CU, the test results are purely for ensuring the circuits are sound and will not cause un forseen problems.

Napit require you to have 2391 and profesional indemnity insurance if you are going to carry out periodic inspections.
