Hi guys,

Im new on here and thought id ask for some help!

Im currently working for a m&e consultants as a intermidiate electrical engineer and i have completed both the ONC & HNC in building services. So i basically have an office based job doing the electrical designing on the computer and rarely visiting site, as i have started to find this rather repeatitive and boring i am thinking about studying for my 2330 on evenings, here lies my problem, i understand that you must complete a log book which logs the work you are carrying out on site and as im not working on site i will find this difficult to do.

So i guess what im asking is, has anyone had a similar problem to mine? I dont want to quit my job in the current economic climate so would it still be possible for me to complete this course?

I apologise if the above seems quite long winded, im not brilliant at explaining things! Ha

But any help would be most appriciated as im at a loss to what i can do about this.

Thanks Duncs04

Hi,

I've not heard of that for CG2330. It's a qualification based on what you study at college - exams and practical assessments. You don't need to log work that you do on-site. Many people who aren't in the trade get through the CG2330. However if you wish to do the NVQ Level 3, then you do build up a portfolio of work. However, CG2330 will give you a level 3 qualification on completion.

hi the C&G 2330 level 2 or level 3 doesnt require a portfolio of work, im doing it at the mo, only the NVQ level 3 requires that
please note though that the C&G 2330 level 3 is NOT the same as the NVQ level 3
it can be done at the same time but is a different qualification (trust me on this as there was a lot of confusion at our college as we all thought we were getting the nvq lvl 3 but we werent, we were getting the c&g 2330 LVL 3) in the end i emailed the people at city and guilds and they clarified they are different qualifications

as far as i could find out from the people at my college you can do both the level 3 qualifications at the same time but you have to register seperatley for the nvq as they send assesors to the workplace to check what your doing

hope that helps
