Hello,

I just bought an old apartment and i need to make 4 new dedicated power lines (AC , kitchen, Washing Machine and heater). There are concrete walls and cutting chases will be very difficult, i was thinking to choose some type of cable that can be covered with plaster, without tubes ( only for walls), i will still have to cut ,but not so deep. Making chases into the floor it's far more easier and it's a must to use protective tubes. There is one type of cable called NYM-J (solid conductor), is that good? Or maybe there is another type of cable that will be more suitable for my situation? I am not thinking of changing the cables for the next 20 years or so, probably by then i will redo the walls as well.
Thank you!

twin and eart flat cable is the usual go to for domestic installs. (6242Y)

NYM-J would be fine (if a permitted cable type), but direct burial in walls isn't allowed everywhere (although BS7671 doesn't prohibit the practice).

Thank you for all the answers. Regarding NYM-J:
For installation on or under the plaster
In bricks and concrete, except direct embedding in vibrated or compressed concrete
In dry, damp or wet interiors
Also suitable for outdoor use if protected against direct sunlight.

There was also a video from one german company using NYM-J wihout tubes on the walls: chases, cable and on top plaster.
We don't use 6242y here.
