What would you like to see on members profile pages?

They're quite generic and boring right now, we can have a few more areas for perhaps what qualifications people have, or whatever....?

Just thinking out loud.

members' locations would be helpful as well as qualifications ( as you mentioned ).

I miss the number of posts they have done. It did come in useful as to how you replied to them. The fewer post the more tolerant you was.

Ignore my post #3. I misread the question. (I can't edit it, no option)
I'm with spinlondon on this and very rarely go into someone's profile pages.

Professional affiliations (IET etc)

CPS membership

Cards in/self-employed/other

Specialisations

Other skills/jobs/hobbies

Maybe not boxes for all the above, but you could suggest things like that to mention in your info if folk want to.

Locations, Trainee or not, Qualifications, Experience, Aims History, it 's a buggers muddle trying to help someone when there is no information to relate to, it seems to me some folk join the forum just to get the information they need on that particular day or problem, without letting us know their experience etc, more information would help, you all know where I'm coming from.

We have those. Click on a name or avatar to see their 'contact card'

All brilliant info. That's the kinda thing I'm looking for.

It'd perhaps get people looking if we customised the profile area somewhat.

I see a couple have said they rarely look, perhaps because there isn't anything useful there.

Also depends on how much info people like to give out. There is not a lot of info on my profile. I'm an old bugger who doesn't care about what people do for a hobby, what they has for tea or what their pet is up to. OK I'll talk about comp games all day.... I don't like giving out too much info.
