I got my City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 back in 2012 and at the time I had about 3 years experience working on commercial sites.

I took a different career path but would now like to get back into this industry but I am a bit overwhelmed and confused about all the information out there about becoming a fully qualified electrician. ECS, JIB, NVQ, 18th Edition, AM2, Part P, 25SomethingSomething, 26SomethingSomething.............

I have the ECS Health, Safety & Environmental Assessment booked for next week so that I can then get the Electrical Labourer ECS card and I am currently applying for Electricians Mate jobs.

I understand that to become a fully qualified electrician is still going to take time and is not going to happen overnight and I am willing to put the time and work in but would someone be able to tell me what it is exactly that I need to do please?

What do I need to do after I do the ECS Health, Safety & Environmental Assessment and then get my ECS Card? Is there a particular order I need to take all the steps to become a fully qualified electrician? Are particular cards/qualifications only for a particular field eg domestic/commercial/industrial?

Any help would be much appreciated and thanks in advance.

Depends on your final aim ?

If your wish is a JIB/ECS grading of electrician the you will need to do an NVQ3 and also AM2 I think.

As you hold the level 3 2330 the mature candidate route may be the best idea.
