Can anyone shed some light on this...

All my boards here, all 12, are MEMshiled 2 boards, which fit MEM shield 2 MCB's or any of the EATON range with the same DIN rail fitting. So i ring up WF electrical my usual supplier and they have told me they no longer stock such MCB's and they are going out of range and will soon become obsolete and be unavailable for purcahse, so i totally bricked one, because we are due in some new kit and machinery soon which will need powering up and by al account ill have no way of installing them....

So i rang EATON directly, and she tells me, no no, still stock MCB's just not the boards. Fine, can you reccommend any wholesalers who stock them....erm...no, she couldnt find ANY. Eventually i find on RS online, they stock an EATON memera, which is exactly the same as the MEM shield 2 MCB in every way, just a different name. But due to the boards going out of line, they have hicked the price up to around £9-15 PER MCB!!

Anyone else having trouble getting hold of MEM shield gear or are people just being daft as a result of poor communication?

With MEM MCB's the scarcer they are, the more expensive they are, and I'd avoid them like the plague. When estimating jobs make sure you get a recent price or else you'll be out of pocket!

Well i have no choice mate, its use MEM gear or spend £5k changing all the CU's here which isnt really an option. I stocked up on £400 worth of breakers last night so it should keep my head above water for a while, but before long i could find myself in a bad one if they make the entire range obsolete and just decide to stock and manufacture the MEM shield 3 stuff
