Been a bit quite for a while, so thought i better show willing.

What is the worst sort of Electrical Work?

i don't mean DIY or Kitchen Fitter, i mean what is your least favourite type of work.

For me it has to be Domestic Occupied Rewires.

i saw an advert in the Yellow Pages the other day and one Sparks advertises as a "Domestic rewire specialist", My mate wanted to phone him to ask him if he needed any help, but you hate rewires i said "i was going to offer him counselling" was his reply

Yep, 'lived in' rewires do it for me.

Would rather work on the sewage treatment plants on a hot day !

Totally agree house bashing pain inthe a*** especially when house is occupied having to move furniture, lift carpets & floorboards etc, then you have to put it all back down again before teatime so they can sit down for their dinner.

I would rather go 10 rounds with Amir Khan.

"lived in domestics " i'd rather eat my own warm ****
its the silly ****** saying "do you have to ?" that annoys me

Nice to see that i am not the only one!

Does this annoy anyone else out there?

Decorators (sorry house painters) that splash emulsion on brand new accessories

After blood sweat and tears, chasing out, getting covered in ****, weedling (good word) cables about so they can't be seen and the only bit of our work to be seen and within 24hrs of it being put up, every switch and socket is covered in ******* paint!!! and to top it all the decorator asks if i can "just" take off the sockets so he can paper!!! cause we all like doing things twice but only paid once.

moan over

back to the Golf with a beer i go

actually whats worse is lived in council work
if the ******** arent nicking your tools /materials they're trying to break into your van .
had to install fans in council houses once (********** job on the planet) and the company expected me to cold call on them !!! couldn't get half of them out of bed
never ever again i refer you to my previous post:eek:

haha I have the same thing now Wayne. I 1st & 2nd fix 2 kitchens a week for council refurbs and then have to fit bathroom & kitchen fans in each of the houses. After that I do wire a seperate bathroom for a disabled adaption and then if I have any spare time left in the week my boss asks me to cold call other houses on a list which require kitchen and bathroom fans. He simply won't accept that the dole bludging sponging crack heads will not get out of bed to answer the door to me. He doesn't understand when they say they want a few days notice before going in and coring holes in breeze block and turning their kitchens and bathrooms black!

Yup, that accounts for my 45 hour week sadly:(

Ditto,I'm supervising 20 council house rewires a week.

I will say one thing,NOTHING shocks me anymore.

Had the Resident Liason officer in a property today, that we are about to go in tomorrow, looking like someone off CSI with her boiler suit on,cleaning a house BEFORE we go in,giving it big licks with the Shake n' Vac :)

I think its fair to say your not a sparky until you've worked on a council job! i admit ive done it, solid red brick walls, scum running about with sh#tty bums, but to top it all off I got the amazing job of changing smoke detectors and panels in 3 council buildings and the smell from the rooms was gastly, to be fair sh#t smelt like italian perfume! (truly bad!)

Being buried alive like Max "King Prawn" Branning in EastEnders.

*Shudders*

when i first started working i did engineering .once we had to change the bearings inside a large tank that was used to mince fish that was used to feed minks:eek:then there was the ammonia farm ,
installed wiring in a carcass incinerator before also ,that said council work is worse

Plasterers. Bastards to a man. How many times have you had your sockets and switch boxes plastered completely over leaving you to find out where they are so you can cut them out again? I had one a few years ago where the whole place was cement rendered. Luckily, I'd drawn a plan where everything was located. And another thing while I'm in full rant mode. You measure up and install your cables for down lighting so that you can cut the holes later and fish the cables out, and what do you find when you get back to the job? The plasterer has pulled all your cables through the ceiling as a `favour` and they're all over the place with no chance of lining them up properly. Grrrr!
