Hi Guys sorry if this has already been discussed at some point but recently carried out a condition report and gave it unsatisfactory as the rcd was not tripping. I was asked to rectify this so changed the rcd now. Now there are a king for a cert to say this has been done to I issue a new condition report or do I issue a minor works.

I would personally issue a Minor Works. To reissue the Condition Report you would have to retest/inspect as you cannot be sure things have not changed in the interim even if it were just a few days.

Your right this has been discussed and the general consensus is minor works.

Sometimes when a quick fix issue results in an unsatisfactory on an EICR I contact the responsible person, get authorisation for the remedial before issueing an unsatisfactory report....and following the remedial issue the report as satisfactory. Yes I know its not correct proceedure, but here in the real world where there is a desire bordering on desparation to minimise paperwork it seems a logical approach.
