hi ,
i am a qualified wall floor(15 yrs exp) tiler but am looking for new career.i am now contemplating taking an electrical course but there are so many on the net that all sound good.could you advise which ones are best .
also if you are a qualified sparky how keen are you to employ a person like me with no experience apart from a course but willing to learn?
thanks

its catch22 in my eyes, I found it hard myself to get a job after I took the short course,(mine was at technique training in chesterfield) But if you do, how can the employer findout whether you are willing to learn without employing you? So i got alot of negative feedback because alot of people (in my area, so it seems) dont like to take chances. The courses themselves, do give good teaching and understanding of electrical work and thats all good.

Theres otherways to become an electrician, you could be an electricians mate, and go on a course, or find an employer before going on the course and say. "hiya I'm wanting to be an electrician, i'm thinking about doing this course, would you be interested in taking me on after, if i pass it etc" something like that.

anyways hope this helps, many other posts/threads on this website which would be of value to you,

regards Luke
