Hello all,
Im a new member,my name is Terry,im 32,been sparking since 1998.
For my first post id just like to ask a daft question that iv been pondering over for years, not sure if its just a north west thing or all over but why do some sparks refer to plug-in ceiling roses as 'Gregs'??
weve had this conversation in work numerous times but no-one can answer it,dont think its a brand name (klix are probably the most used brand).
I figured some of the super sparks on this forum would have the answer.

Cheers

theyt always used to be called gregs, before my time, even, just as an aside, what did zebedees used to be called before magic roundabout?

Hi Terry,
Luminaire Support Couplers were introduced to the UK market in the early 1980s and coincided with the first amendments to 15th Edition of the Wiring Regulations:1983 & 1984 (Green Cover) where they were first defined. I believe these became linked together in Sparky slang as a contraction of Green Regulations ie. Gregs = Luminaire Support Couplers or LSCs.
