hi, going to book a napit part p assessment and want to spend wisely. will the kt61 be ok[cheapest], i now about only 500v instul test setting and will trip rcds. will this pass the assessment and would the tool be ok if not using day to day.
also do i need a proving unit and fuse locking devises with keys. any info will be welcome cheers.

I've had KT62 for a few years now and i find it great as i liked the old Robin yellow stuff.
Sometimes I get stuck with tripping, in that event i borrow a D-lock tester. Value for money top notch.
getting the fuses is sometimes slow though.

Not used either of those testers, but I had a Kewtech loop tester at work for a while (think it was a kt45). Didnt like it at all, it has an anti trip function (they call it ATT), which is permanently on, you had to press a button to turn it off EVERY time you pressed the test button. This is'nt exactly easy, unless you've had an extra arm sown on. Also, the ATT only worked some times, often the tester would show 'noise' on its display, and wouldnt test the rcd. Its also a little slower than others such as Megger, although not too terrible.
I went back to my old robbin, and just bridged the RCD's out.
I presume the KT62 works the same way?
