Should do. Anything i7 should be good enough. Is it running 10 just now?

good timing actually.
My dad got a notification to tell him to “click heer to” update to 11….. I told him not to…. Message was likely a hoax. 11 isn’t out yet.

There is a beta version of Windows 11 out if you are registered on the microsoft insider program

Microsoft did have a tool for determining whether a PC is suitable for W11, but they had to remove it, as it was "condemning" far too many PCs.
Something to do with whether your PC has version 2 of the Trusted Platform Module chip.
I'm sure the tool will be updated soon...

It all down to to the TPM chip being present and activated and you need secure boot as well (these are selected in the bios) , in practice most pcs since 2017 have these .

Yes it is currently running windows 10. Yes I think beta is out somewhere but haven't tried. Beta usually has a lot of bugs so that's not really recommended.

I see. Gonna look for that. It's pretty good getting a new windows fresh install so really looking forward to that.
