Hi there,
Customer wants a new CH clock so replacing a Drayton 5/2 day to a 7 day (LP722) She also wants a wireless thermostat. This is a first for me. I presume due to connections that the RF reciever goes near to the boiler....but are the connections for the reciever made at the boiler or the CH clock?
Thanks.

I usually use single surface patrice box for combis as a wiring centre

3core flex from spur to wiring centre
5core flex from boiler
5 core flex from timeswitch
5core flex from thermostat receiver

do all connections within pattress box

dont try to bring multiple cables into programmers etc just gets messy

dont forget to take the link out the boiler terminals!

the customer has a system boiler not a combi...is that still ok?

If hes got a system boiler the wiring will also include motorised valves and a cylinder stat

either y plan or s plan usually but same set up applies, i usually use a double pattress for system boilers as theres a few more connections

Assuming there is an existing wiring centre for all the controls I'd position the wireless receiver adjacent to that and connect it into the thermostat connections

The receiver has L and N supply then call for heat and satisfied connections.
wear do I connect the call for heat and satisfied to?
is it simply disconnect old wired thermostat connections at wiring centre and replace with rf unitThanks.
