I am trying to add a switch and a light into a storage room next to our kitchen. I am wiring from a socket in the kitchen into another socket in the storage room - that works. Then I am wiring a lighting fixture from the socket (which turns on when I switch on the fuse). From the lighting fixture I am taking another wire to a switch, that doesn't work and trips the fuse when I try to switch the light off.
This was a working circuit before that I had to take off due to damp proofing the storage.
My guess is that I don't wire the switch in correctly as for some reason this is and intermediate switch used as 1way.
See attached diagram and switch.
Could someone help me please what could be the issue?
Thanks!

TL;DR
Trying to wire a light from a socket. When I add the switch to the circuit, it trips the fuse.

How are you fusing down the feed to the light/switch?

I also think he’s switching across L and N

If this is how the wiring is run, then you need to look for examples of “loop in” or “3 plate” lighting circuits online.

As mentioned, the lighting circuit needs fused down where it comes off the socket.
