Wiring controlled plug with light switch

Hi

im interested to hear peoples thoughts on this possibility. I have a remote controlled plug socket which interviens between a wall socket and an appliance which simply turns on an off via a remote. I was wondering if there was a way to connect this to a light to allow this to be controlled by the remote.

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience doing this or has any ideas or advice. Ideally i would connect this parralel to the already existing light switch.

It doesn't sound practical to use a remote controlled piggy-back plug to control a light. There are similar remote controlled adaptors available for light fittings, maybe look at one of those rather.

That lamp holder remote control looks quite cool Marvo. I'm curious as to how it works with a tv remote. If the lamp has a shade that covers the sensor does it still work. You know what tv remotes are like...

I'm not sure if it's any good TBH, it was just an illustration of the type of product I pulled from the first UK website I came across. From experience these types of gimmicky products are often a bit shakey but it's only 10 quid so it might be worth a punt if it's from a reputable supplier and it looks like it will do the job the OP was requesting.
