Hi guys, I am making an industrial light fitting for my bathroom (zone 3) which will look very similar to this one:

Google Image Result for https://img.etsystatic.com/il/9e6bac/1175430358/il_340x270.1175430358_m3u3.jpg?version=1 - https://goo.gl/images/xsmPdy

My question is, how do I go about wiring and earthing it?

The conduit will be metal and there will be multiple bulbs, 4 or 5.

I'm fairly good with electrics but I don't know the correct way to wire earths new fitting, any help would be massively appreciated thanks!

Zone 3 doesn’t exist.

Although your fitting might be outside the zones it would need to be suitable for the environment. Condensation will have a detrimental affect on your lamps.

If it's going in a bathroom I'd use SELV, or better still use a fitting which has been made to the appropriate standard and tested to the appropriate IP rating.

Yeah I looked at low voltage. Don’t think you can get filament bulbs at that low voltage though? Standard galvanised pipe a no go? I’ve seen a few fittings with a decent ip rating.

Thanks

When I was working on boats we used to fit 12v tungsten filament bulbs in the bilges so I know you can get them, but I'm not sure what the range of decorative bulbs is like.
It's not so much the galvanised pipe but the lampholder that would cause the problem.
