They need a bigger supply(sometimes 32Amps) than a 13A plug can handle.Hi all,
I've just purchased a 2nd hand hob. I thought it would be a case of simply plugging it in, but unfortunately it has no plug and needs to be wired up to some wall unit.
What's the reason for electric hobs not having plugs?
probably draws more than 13A. you probably need a dedicated 32A circuit and isolator.
Thanks for the reply.
Would this mean running a new cable from the consumer unit, and then wiring it to that?
Are the majority of modern electric hobs like this?
Do you have an existing cooker switch in your kitchen for the oven?
