Hello peeps,
first message from George. I see that this site if furiously busy, so I hope I can get help here!
The landlord refuses to wire a thermostat to the boiler - causes constant cutouts, cold water, temperatures and pressures being reached which are no doubt no good for the boiler.
I am going to buy the thermostat and do this wiring myself - I have good education in electrical eng., so no house fires as a result!
Can anybody help me with a wee bit of advice for doing this?
I am about to look for schematics on the big wide web for now.
Thanks in advance,
George.

This depends what make the boiler and the thermostat is. I have a Vaillant boiler and the basic wiring diagram is on the inside of the front cover. gas safe does not allow you to open the cover unless younare Gas safe registered. My gas fitter has put sticky labels over the top two fixing screws ...

Will go ahead with it sooner or later....G.

Are you talking about wiring in a room thermastat, because that won't cure the above faults.
The boiler, as fitted, shouldn't do what you describe.
