Hi there I am a qualified electrician working in scotland. Got all my qualifications from a recognised 4 year apprenticeship. Also got my 18th edition. Me and my girlfriend were wanting to go over to New Zealand and experience working abroad. How easy is it to get a job as an electrician in New Zealand? Does the qualifications in scotland apply for New Zealand? Thanks guys! Looking forward to information.

At the moment no Foreigners are allowed into New Zealand, unless you were resident and are returning.
It's unlikely that's going to be lifted soon, so I doubt they are taking any applications.

Going on a working holiday Visa would be the best route first, when they allow Foreigners in again,

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I am meaning after everything is back to normal :). Probs next year.

New Zealand is expensive and the rate is crap. I’ve worked over there a few times. Beautiful country there’s no disputing that. But there’s a reason a lot of Kiwis cross the ditch Into Aus.

Thanks for the advice Kenny. Can you start working straight away as a spark in New Zealand? I know you cant start working straight away as a spark in aus? Cheers
