THWN vs UF-B in my unusual conduit installation

Thanks guys, I ran UF-B. Never handled 6/2 before, wasn't as difficult as I expected.

THWN vs UF-B in my unusual conduit installation

Hello, I have 50 ft of corrugated pipe buried between my house and a pool shed. I placed it where I knew future landscaping would make it very difficult to do any trenching. It's four inches in diameter and about two feet down. So far I have pulled two direct burial cables through it, one for a...

DPDT switching branch circuit from one breaker to another?

I appreciate the input on this. I decided it is not a good idea, and will spend the money and time to install a new dedicated circuit with conventional receptacle, conductor and breaker arrangement. At least, that way the new circuit is sound for non-welder use.

DPDT switching branch circuit from one breaker to another?

I think the root of my question is easily obscured by the uncommon aspect of code for welders. Many welders have two ratings - I 1eff, and I 1max. I'm looking at one unit that is rated at 25A I 1eff, and 35A I 1max. By code, a single dedicated circuit for it can be #10 with a 40 or 50A breaker...

DPDT switching branch circuit from one breaker to another?

Here's a diagram of what I'm trying to describe. Unless I'm mistaken, depending on a welder's 1eff and 1max rating, code for a dedicated, single welder branch circuit may use #10 wire with a 50A breaker. I have a 240V, #10 conductor, 30A breaker branch circuit in place. I don’t want to change...

DPDT switching branch circuit from one breaker to another?

I’m planning a 240V welder circuit in a detached garage with a 100A sub panel. For the 160A or 180A output welders I’m looking at, the conductor can be #10, and a 30A breaker is probably OK, but a 40 would help the duty cycle. Conductor must handle welder's 1eff rating, breaker can be up to...

Will 12vac replacing 120vac mitigate stray current situation?

Thanks everyone! I'm good to go on this!

Will 12vac replacing 120vac mitigate stray current situation?

Thanks for the help. No matter what I do with the light, I'll put a GFCI breaker in the sub panel. The light is on a dedicated circuit. Regarding transformer advice, attached is a pic showing two products I was looking at. I'm assuming the gold highlighted wording with product A is what you are...

Will 12vac replacing 120vac mitigate stray current situation?

I have an inground pool with a 22 year old, 120vac light fixture in a niche connected to water-holding conduit running to a switch in an outbuilding. I removed the fixture to clean the niche. The fixture was just floating at the surface, still connected, with the wall switch off. A little extra...

How to shut off 120v baseboard heater?

I should withdraw my questions. I've learned that the proper course of action is to use a single pole thermostat since I'm using a 120V baseboard heater. Sorry for the false start!

    Hello

Greetings folks. In the 80s I made illustrations and photographs for books for do-it-yourselfers, now I are one.

How to shut off 120v baseboard heater?

I've planned a 20A circuit serving a tiny half-bath in a workshop. The circuit will contain a few LED ceiling lights, a receptacle (not for tools) and a 350 or 400W 120V baseboard heater. So it would not be convenient to shut off the heater via the main panel. When I'm not working during the...
