Photocell suitable for CFL bulbs
Can anyone point me in the right direction regarding a suitable photocell for using with energy saving bulbs. Customer has some bulkheads in which they have bust the photocell because they've just stuck in CFL bulbs this week, so are wanting to replace the small photocells on the fitting -

GU10 bulbs keep blowing after about a week - please help this is driving me mad!
Hi, I have a four lamp Halogen GU10 light fitting in my kitchen (not spots) and two in an adjacent sun lounge. They were fine when first installed a few years ago but in the last 12 months when we replace the bulbs they are lasting a week at the most. As you can imagine, with a total of 12 bulbs... -

Dimmer buzzing
Hi all quick question I recently installed 8 downlights 50w lamps low voltage. The problem is i'm getting a slight buzz at the fusebox when the dimmer is dimmed (400w dimmer) the breaker is a 10a wylex breaker tnc-s any suggestions would be great.- Delboy247

timeguard light switch
Anyone know of anything similar to this 24 Hour / 7 Day Security Light Switch that can switch low energy bulbs of 7 to 12 watts, all the ones i have come across seem to want to only switch larger loads of 20W or more even the ones with separate fluorescent adaptors still say they are for larger... -

PIR switch kills 2d flourescant bulbs after just a month?
To anyone who can offer advice. I have PIR movement detectors in my hallways which currently switch flush ceiling mounted bulkheads which carry 2d flourescant fittings (32 or 38 watt I think) I am experiencing extremely short 2d bulb life span and have since learnt that for reasons I am unaware... -

Energy saving light bulbs
Do Energy saving light bulbs retain a charge? Reason I ask is, when light switch is turned off the bulb will flash slightly every 30 seconds or so. I've checked wiring and all is in order, changed bulb for a non energy saving, problem disappeared:confused: -

Blowing Bulbs
Hi Guys. I hope someone can help, I have been asked to look at two flats in a new block, the light bulbs are blowing really quick, they are using Aurora low energy GU10, 11W fluresent type, bulbs should last 8000 hours say the manafactures, but are lasting about 6 weeks, and cost about £8:00. MR16 replacement bulbs
Has any one used CFL replacement bulbs for 12 volt MR16 light fittings, or is it more cost effective just to replace the full fittings as a whole:confused:- Amp David

Blown low energy bulbs
Hi A friend (plummer) as done some work on a newly completed block of flats (I think about 10 flats) he said that all the low energy bulbs keep blowing, he said that he thinks they all need new transformers. I have not been round yet to look, but I thought you guys may have some ideas to get me... -

Hi all, I have a theory that I want to put to the test, a customer/chum has some wall lights in the lounge, been there for years no problem, now however one side blows a bulb within 10 minutes of the lights being turned on, I have checked the wiring as far as possible and it all seems to be OK... -
