Discuss steel conduit in the Electricians' Talk area at ElectriciansForums.net

if the conduit is used as cpc, then the fly lead is to earth any accessory attached to the box. if there is a separate cpc conductor within the conduit, connected to the accessory, then no need for a fly lead.

so, no need for fly leads. what purpose would they serve?

to provide each lenght of conduit an continuous earth, for when/if the joints become rusty

There is no requirement for this, telectrix hit the nail on the head in post #2, if there's a CPC in addition to the conduit then there is no need for a fly-lead.
