USB wall adapter with no safety / reg marks - need help

Hi there, I ordered a phone of eBay and it came with a USB wall adapter (pictured) and as you can see their is no marking on the plug at all. Is this allowed? Should i notify the seller? I thought UK plugs had to have certain marks on them.



(I am no expert with electrical "terminology" etc...!)

There are many many things on ebay that don't meet UK regulations. Including BS 13A mains plugs without fuses! To be honest if this plug DID have markings on, they could just as easily have been printed on by anyone in China. Daz

You could ask the seller to prove that this item meets UK regulations, and also ask him why it hasn't got any CE/BS/Double Inslulated/etc. markings on it. I'll predict the response though. Daz

BS 1363 requires that the live and neutral pins (the shorter pins) are to be partially insulated.

Yeah maybe after a closer look.

looks like a chinese knock-off copy of an apple charger. they make headlines in the news every now and then, when someones not lucky and it goes bang and catches fire.
