UK Hello I would like to add a double socket to my shed, I wanted to know if I could spur of a socket indoors with 2.5 t&e run underground in conduit

That method doesn't offer enough mechanical protection to the cable. The circuit requires RCD protection of some kind, have you got that in the house DB? This really should be run in Steel Wired Armour (SWA) or High Tuff. If it's to be buried in the ground then an absolute minimum of one spade...

UK WT Henley series 4 cutout

Certificate 2022? Test voltage 230 on IR - I'd expect that to be 250 or 500 if equipment disconnected (well that's what my MFT has). 5 Ring circuits seems mad. 7 Lighting circuits too!

UK WT Henley series 4 cutout

Did the electrician who joined the DNO earth with the inline connector do any Earth loop impedance tests anywhere afterwards did he not give you a Test sheet of any kind?

    Testing unusual installations

I have a number of Limitations are part of my Testing work in my current role. I test as much as practicable and not down any limitations on a comments page on the Easycert Software I use. If you can't switch it off do a live ZS at the furthest point possible and take an R2 or calculate r1+R2...

UK High Ze TNS - what to expect from DNO?

The sockets being able to be used outside imho are C2. There's no immediate danger

UK High Ze TNS - what to expect from DNO?

I'm surprised the person installed the new consumer unit before the high earth was investigated tbh and I'm also surprised they didn't got to greater lengths to explain the issue. Though nearly all the circuits are at least on RCBOs by the looks of it. what's the circuit closest to the Main...

    UK MCB's vs Cartridge fuses

It really depends how much the fault current was as a 13A fuse won't actually blow unless it's actually a little over 20A. As for the cable supplying the fridge what power rating is the appliance? A short length of cable can carry quite a bit more current than tables suggest but a 5A would...

    Decent multifunctional tester

I use a megger 1721, I've also used a 1725. I don't particularly like the design of the leads, this is supplied by my company so I have no choice but it's a good bit of test kit..

UK What should my next steps be?

In the first instance I'd study the Regs and obtain BS7671 and from there depending on whether you wish to become a maintenance Electrician or installer of some kind? Some of your existing training should be helpful and relevant but it's difficult to know how much exactly
