I could point you in the direction of a book published some years ago on earthing and bonding thar would probably confirm everything you are likely to say.

New Lineman Tools in 2025: Essential Gear for Pros and Apprentices

Too much AI generated content out there these days. Usually pretty obvious as well, like the example in this thread.

Ring doorbell: options for video storage without subs

I'd buy the Tapo version for a fraction of the cost.

Help me work out how to wire these wall lights please.

Lovely attitude. And it's a shame because up until now you've had some good responses.

News Does anybody still have an issue with the forum style NOT loading colour?

I've been getting the annoying transparent text for a while now. Even after choosing the blue and white format. I've now switched to the orange format though and it seem OK for the time being. For some reason the threads aren't showing at the latest post position again though now. I have to...

The black and red need re-terminating. May well need ring terminals as Brian mentioned.

2391 question multiple choice IR help to break down

Bear in mind that when all the circuits are connected to the consumer unit, they are effectively in parallel. This should give you a clue as to how to answer the question. Even without a calculator, there is one value that it will certainly be less than.

    A MYSTERY? 24VDC blowing fuses

Ah, those aren't BNC connectors, they are industrial connectors which are suitable for the job. As above, BNC connectors are for RF (and also audio, test equipment etc.) use and are used with shielded coax cable.

What’s your opinions on this leaflet design?

An apostrophe is required here - a possessive one. Having said that, I think it may need to go after the 'S' rather than before it - because the years are plural.

What’s your opinions on this leaflet design?

The sentence 'solutions that works for you' would be better as 'solutions that work for you'. The sentence about regulations and safety needs a bit of either re-wording or punctuation ' I'd at least put a comma after 'regulations' That's being picky though - it looks very nice. And I'd keep...

What does L-E measure at the board when using a low Ohms test rather than an IR test?

12 volt bulbs on 240 volt circuit

Very good point. I'd forgotten about that. But unless you fixed it then it was more likely that other bulbs would fail due to receiving slightly higher voltage.

Did you put the units at the end, ie. 'A' ?

12 volt bulbs on 240 volt circuit

Hence why if you remove one bulb, all the rest go out as well

Signal generator amplifier using only positive pole output, underperforming

If you don't match the load to the output impedance requirement of the amplifier you won't get maximum power transfer to the load. You have effectively provided the amplifier with an infinite impedance load. You may well also damage the amplifier. Could you not calculate the length of wire...

    Problems with my roof

Interesting. I've got a very similar extension at the rear of my house. Was built around 10 years ago, and signed off by the council, but like yours it is built onto a cavity wall and has no cavity tray. We've never had any water/damp issues at all. It does have the lead flashing cut into the...
