    Yes, that's what I thought and told him, plus possibly updating earth bonding if required. He just wanted an approx idea, if total rewire required. I did say, that if he buys it and intends to alter a lot, it may well be best to install a new electrical installation from scratch.

    Does this type of cable stem from the 60's 70's? It's poor quality made cable, whereby there is a chemical reaction within the cable. I believe a chemical was put in the cable to increase it's current carrying capacity. It's advisable not to be in direct contact with it with bare hands.

    4mm T&E and 10mm earth wire in 20mm conduit. I would of thought a bit tight. Would that comply re space factor?

    I'm commenting late at night long day. Re DNO meter position? Are you planning to have that sited in the cellar? If so, that's a no no these days. Classed as fire hazard and flood hazard.
