Can Easycert no longer be used?

We'd seen 23A max current and went with 6mm on a B32. Manufacturer's spec sheet asks for a 25A breaker.

Can Easycert no longer be used?

No access to that as a user. Thankfully not something our assessor mentioned. He did think he caught us out with an incorrect R1+R2 reading for the ASHP circuit of the job we showed him, duly retested and reading was spot on . So he pulled us up for B32 breaker instead of B25 instead...

    Heat pump controls

The microswitch is volt free. If you were to permanent live the greys like a normal S plan, you'd fire 230v down the oranges and blow something on the PCB in the heat pump. The heat pump will be sending out a small amount of voltage through to your greys which it'll receive back via the oranges...

S-Plan central heating - bypass microswitch?

If you bypass the microswitches you'd need to incorporate a couple of contactors or relays to avoid each zone back feeding each other. The microswitches stop this as well as only firing the boiler/pump when the valve is open. A different solution would be to switch out the brand of valves to...

    Economy 7 confusion

That Newlec timer/switch will need to be left switched to "timed" for the offpeak to work - also worth checking the times it's set to actually line up with your offpeak tariff. The boost button utilises the 24 hour supply to boost the heat if you were to run out of hot water, typically limited...

Hot water direct to solar panels

They said they've already got PV. Eddi, Immersun, Solar iBoost all do immersion controllers. If thinking of an EV charger in the future then Eddi is already setup to work alongside the Zappi, etc. Had a client in the past with an Immersun and an EV Charger (can't remember brand but it was...

My favourite ! half moon plaster up light

https://www.editlighting.com/edit-ealing-ceramic-wall-light.html These you can just hang off of two fixings. The up/down ones are better, you wire up the lampholder part and the plaster part just slots over the top. https://www.editlighting.com/edit-bexley-up-down-plaster-wall-light.html

Smoke detector with separate backup batteries?

I've read through that article a few times before. I'd argue that that entire section (particularly the final sentence) kind of leaves it open for interpretation that they're referring to the battery powered only detectors. We've only been fitting the 3016's since the introduction of the...

Smoke detector with separate backup batteries?

Have you a source for that? Everything I've read stipulates the battery must be sealed/tamper proof if the detector is battery powered only.

Smoke detector with separate backup batteries?

Sealed/tamper proof batteries only required for battery powered only alarms. I second the 3016, the backup battery is rechargeable so in theory would only need access in 10 years when the detector is due for replacement anyway.

Wire Pump to Diverter Valve ‘Brown’ or use a relay?

Only issue I can think of is that the pump will be pushing on the valve for a few seconds until it opens up fully.

    What a mathematical error!!!!

More like measure once, join six times! Usually if we're pacing a couple of us would do it and take an average. Been a bit off a few times but usually the other way. 37m is alot! Now I think of it the last run of SWA I pulled in ended up about 6m short on a short run of about 50m. The digger...

    Help pricing storage heater job

Quantums aren't the worst to fit. The 24h supplies required range from 400w-1300w (due to booster elements). The biggest (QM150) is a 2 man lift. If you're serious about the distance then I'd say a sack barrow or even a wheel barrow is essential as you're talking probably 30 packs of bricks (and...
