North of the border on my birthday

Looks like me and Scotsparks are swapping places atm, he's in England working and I'm over the border in Scotland for this week.

It's my birthday on Wednesday and I'm in Stiring for the night. Any good live music places or can anyone tell me where to avoid?

It's a bit crappy working away on my birthday because my friends have re-arranged their plans so we could all go out, plans now canceled and I'm up here (Dumfries tonight) until Sunday and don't know anywhere. Any help would be great lads.

I'll just tell you where I am over the rest of the week.

Tomorrow, Pollokshaws, Glasgow, Cumbernauld and digs in Stirling.

Thursday (with a massive hang over) Stirling, Dundee, Aberdeen with digs in Bucksburn.

Friday Dunfernline, Edinburgh, Hermiston Gate, Livingstone + digs.

Saturday Coatbridge, East Kilbride, Hamilton digs in Glasgow.

Sunday the boss wants me to hit a couple of stores in the north east on the way home or get digs Sunday night and complete these areas by Monday, home Monday night and try to have a night out with friends for a belated birthday.

If any of your places are on my route I'll find the time to take a pick.


Ps thanks for the present Phil! A blank birthday card posted to me with no stamp. Cost our lass a few quid to get it from the sorting office. Christmas coming up, ill get my own back.

ive worked in dunfermline a few times,great place i recommend whisky and iron brew in a few bars next to the abbey from what i can remember...whisky and iron brew(on tap) it has that effect.. the scots are good craic, geordies with brains:beatnik:

I would never think about spoiling a twelve year old with iron brew. I am talking about whisky btw lol.

Tomorrow night I'll be treating (tasting ) the brands of whisky that are not available south of the border unless you pay through the nose. Anything on the shelf that I haven't tried before is good for me.

Sheep dip, I think I've had that before but drink too much and you can't remember your name! I've had that, its good. I like peaty and oak whiskys. I'm sure I'll find a few .

I'be already done scumdee, birthday night out in Stirling was ok, Aussie pub for grub and loads of drinks but Ginger Grouse was not a good idea. Drank loads of them as if it was pop, woke up next morning and couldn't feel my legs for the first hour! Lol.

Aberdeen last night and Livingstone tonight, going out again to see what the cracks like and I'm not talking about class A drugs or randy riggers!

Must admit lads, I'm falling in love with Scotland. The people are friendly, great sites to see, brilliant driving roads. Next time I'll bring my golf clubs instead of a tool box. Already planning a one week holiday for next year but not when its -3 C.
