I haven't been a regular on here for the past few months, real life stuff combined with work has left my limited opportunites to hang out with you knowledgeable gents.

I plan to be back posting/commenting more frequently now though - so for those of you who were glad to see the back of me, i am sorry but im back :)

Anyway, noticed a few changes....

1) The DIY Forum...and it's locked to myself. An educated guess is telling me its locked to all 'pub members' to try and stop the slamming down of nuisance questions / **** takers ? If so, it's probably a good idea and which ever genious came up with it - i salute you. Stops the nonsense in the main forum areas, although at times it was rather funny listening to the stupid questions. Has it taken the fun out of the forum lol?

Not going to lie, i am intrigued too see what sort of questions are posted in there - however i think it's for the best that it's finally seperated from us wolves. Well done.

2) The auto-electrics forum. About time, great addition - will be usefull to someone as clueless as me in the field :)

3) Any sign / re-incarnation of the legend/myth that is David W.Cockburn lol?

Glad to be back fella's, hope to contribute and get amongst the banter again :)

Welcome back Mark.

Alas Mr Cockburn is still absent from the forum.

Yep we have an auto electrics forum. It's a bit of a niche market so it might take a while before it gets busier. I know very little about the field but if you have any contributions or questions feel free to try it out.

Yep also we have a DIY forum by popular demand. You can ask a Mod or Admin for access if you're up for it but you've got to promise in writing to be nice in there no matter how bewildering the questions may be :). If you see DIY'er questions in the general forums you can use the report button and suggest they're relocated.

Welcome back lad. As Marvo says the DIY forum is voluntary and to be honest it seems to be working without any ---- taking. We also need some more mentors for the trainee forum so if you are interested in access to either let us know.

Hello there and welcome back , from the new boy. (boy I wish lol)

Cheers mate, shame about Cockburn - the lads comedy gold.

To be honest i was never really that bothered about people attempting DIY within reason - like for like replacements ect... it was more of the fact it was the norm too shoot these people down on the forum + it passed the time of day so i used to just jump on the bandwagon :) I'll refrain myself from doing any sort of slagging if im granted access and that's a scouts honour (and i took that honour very seriouslly as a lad lol)

Wouldn't mind access to the DIY form, as it's got its own headline and its seperate from the usual spam you get on the site i don't mind helping like for like replacements (light fittings) i'd feel uneasy advising someone on anything that gets beyond that though - and in which case, i'd ignore the requests.

As for the trainee forum - what does it envolve? Yes, im back on the site - hopefully on a daily basis after my hectic work schedule is dieing down abit now, however if it extends to 1on1 mentoring with an apprentice that requires daily visits to the site to answer question and give feedback - im not sure i can fullfil that just at the present time. I'll obviouslly be on here as much as time allows me to be though.

Hello markc 123 and welcome back

You departed in good time because the "oops" demon was rampant :death:
However you may not get to experience it because it may have been exorcised
