If a new consumer unit is fitted with 25mm tails from isolator switch to consumer unit should the 16mm tails from the cutout to the isolator be changed also. Note that the isolator switch has just been fitted with new 16mm tails.

Also should the 10mm main earth be changed to 16mm by the supplier?

They dont work to Bs 7671
Its their call what they do before the meter
As long as the consumer side conforms, the rest is for them to upgrade/uprate or leave be, whatever they see fit is where our responsibility ends

Sorry my error ---
Tails from Meter to Isolator are 16mm and Isolator to consumer unit 25mm.

I assume once an isolator switch is fitted the tails from meter to isolator are not ours ??

If main earth from mains cable sheath at 10mm - should this go to an earth block to then take 16mm to consumer unit or is it ok for 10mm to go straight to consumer unit?

A lot of meters in our area are being fitted with isolators and the tails from meter to isolator are the property of the DNO had a few jobs recently where this had been done.

First part is correct - you put 16mm main earth to the main earth terminal from there on it is the distributor's responsibility.

As we all know the suppliers are a law to them selves, the whole street as far as i know is supplied from 10 to 16 mm2 swa to the REC, they only use 25mm2 when cable passes through a building to another, then from the meterto the consumer unit is the comsumers responsibility which 25mm2 tails are to be used & 16mm2 main earth to the ccu from the met- when installing a new ccu. "as far as i know.".
