SPD in a plastic consumer unit.

Adding an EC charger and looking at options to include an SPD. The consumer unit is plastic (but in good condition) Options seem to be to add an SPD (with isolator and MCB) before the consumer unit. Or add an isolator before the EV charger with an SPD, isolator and MCB. Or can an SPD be added...

    Cable tray supports needed

I'd need a C shaped one or my tray will end up vertical rather than flat.

    Cable tray supports needed

I could do that but they don't offer much side to side support. The whole tray could move sidewsrds and collapse. But I could sort that with 2 diagonal supports.

    Cable tray supports needed

I'm looking at fitting some cable trays in a domestic loft. I need them to sit 150mm above the current ceiling joists running across those joists. I'm struggling to find and tray supports that stand up from a wooden joist. Plenty of options to hang trays but that's not practical. Any ideas...

Solution needed!!!!…I used a Contactor instead of an ATS to connect 2 power sources (main and ups) for power redundancy

Why aren't you feeding power to the Ups and the ups to the server?

Battery Critical load from PV battery

Thanks. Its a bit more complex than that (of course) I'm adding a manual change over switch to my split rail main consumer unit so I can feed an external 3KW generator to that rail (that will feed the "critcal dist board" as well as the rest of the house lights and sockets. the other consumer...

Battery Critical load from PV battery

Re UK approval I've not yet found anything that's not industrial plant type size and pricing. Happy to be pointed to a UK approved domestic solution just found any. If I have to go with the unit I listed I'll be using a 63A specd unit at max 22A and typically less than 1/2 that. In a metal...

Battery Critical load from PV battery

Sorry yes of course it is. Currently the spec is for a Sofar 3K-6K TLM invertor at 6K No critical as in fridge and freezer. So not critical as such (just the term they use for that specific output.) Interesting that they are now advertised on this very site:-)

Battery Critical load from PV battery

Hi folks. I'm having a PV system installed with a 5KW Amasstore GTX5000 Battery. This comes with a critical load output. I have the spec sheet but its not clear if this output is active all the time or only engaged when the grid power goes down. I'm assuming its live all the time (unless the...

A friend had a new consumer unit fitted

I wasn't able to help as really busy but they were having a new kitchen installed. The fitter said they need a new ring main for the kitchen and so needed a new consumer unit. Had a look the other day. No RCD protection as it trips on the old ring main. The guy recons its the supply at fault...

2006 Honda Civic Headlight Switch Buzzing & Headlight bulbs blowing regularly

Headlights take a lot of power. even 55W bulbs x 2 is 110w at 12V is nearly 10 amps. That's a lot to put through a rotary stalk switch. I'd have expected a relay. However this diagram: Upozorenje o prebacivanju -...

100A DP Isolator Installation Between Meter and CU

I needed tom upgrade my DNO fuse to 100A so needed to increase my tails to 25mm.
