    not "much" motors and testing, thats the 3rd year. 2nd year is easyer than i thought it would be. few calcs and stuff, plenty revision and put the hours in in the classroom and you will be fine.

    Agree totaly, college teach you the theory and a little on the regs, thats it. the stuff you need to know is learned on site.

    iv just had to pay nearly £1000 for the 2330 lvl3 which starts in september. was told no funding at all (cheers dave) unless you are a youngun.     easy thing to do the nvq,, trust me it is real easy via quickstep. opens a lot of doors once you have the card.

    as said, you need the 2356 nvq 3 to get graded as a spark. doesent matter what else you have.

    The thing is they teach you the lot at college which is why we go, the exam just skims the water. surely the point of going to college is so you know what is involved and have a bit of knowlege in eletrical instalations, not just enough to pass a multichoice exam,, the exams the easy bit. :wink5:

    doing it through a college as you know is loads cheaper, but also you have the constant 1 on 1 with the tutor if need be.

    correct, you will have to complete the nvq 3 (2356) before you can be graded by the JIB and get the gold card.

    which card ?

    if you do the ecs test you will get a labourers card from the jib which will get you on site. once you have completed the 2330 level 3 and you complete an nvq 3 you will be able to get an electrician gold card from the jib. hope this helps.

    Will work for very little as an Electricians mate to gain knowledge.

    local college would be much less than half in cost, and better training. dont know if its an option for you but thought id mention it.
