    Voltage Drop Calculation vs OSG

Convert it to a ring circuit maybe. Assuming you do actually have excessive voltage drop.

BBC micro, how posh. I started on a Vic 20. Although we did have BBCs at school. I did get told off a couple of times for using network commands to target other machines on the ethernet network. Is it Repton you're thinking of? That had a tool where you could make your own levels.

    Hello World!

Mine is a Telequipment D75 from the 1970s. Still working spot on. Proper dual beam as well and very high EHT for really bright traces.

    Old film stuff

Yeah the name ended up being used for the production of some really tacky digital cameras etc. Much the same way as Goodmans went and several others.

    Old film stuff

There are still companies around who will develop film. Don't take it to the local Boots store though as they may look at you funny :-)

    Xmas lights

Seen similar myself. It's scary the amount of stuff out there that doesn't comply with standards.

    Xmas lights

As mentioned above, that plug does not meet regulations purely on the sleeved earth pin, which is a definite no-no. I suspect the body dimensions are also not sufficient, but difficult to be sure. Non compliant and shoddy. I wouldn't use it.

Why does my immersion switch keep melting?

Ah just saw the g/y earth colours and didn't look much further. Usual suspects would be cheap/old accessory and/or poorly made connections.

What's the deal with the short link in the Lout terminal?

Convert kiln from 415 triple phase to 240v

I don't see the fire risk with that, assuming the connections and incoming cable are secure and made off well. It's only a big oven with heating elements. Different kettle of fish to not earthing SWA armour surely?

    UK Hanging a 30kg Chandelier

As above - I don't see how you will be able to rely on a single point of that frame sipporting 30kg. If it was me who had installed the frame then I would void any warranty

    Maximum demand exceeding main fuse.

I don't see the sense in dropping the socket circuit breakers from 32A to 20A.

UK Plazma cutter causing SPD failure??

SPDs, as with any switchgear etc are tested to stringent requirements and standards. Obviously occasionally something will go wrong, but I would say this is probably a freak thing.

UK Plazma cutter causing SPD failure??

    Yep, true.

UK Plazma cutter causing SPD failure??

I think he means a poor termination at the plasma cutter causing surges and therefore SPD issues. Although I don't want to put words into his mouth
