    Funny this has come up on here today. I was at my old mans and noticed his sockets and outside cabling is on the non rcd side. He said it was done in 1993 so I went searching for when rcd protection was initiated. Hes now aware and is getting it sorted.

    A bloke at work today told me they are manipulating them and I could agree with him. Before I had one in my old house I was always at 110 quid DD when I moved to a smart meter it went to 130 quid DD. so by me being cautious and watching it constantly it cost me more.

    I've got a fluke 117 great bit of kit if you have somewhere to put it ie a bench the amount of times I've had to let it dangle. I'd go for a pen style as they are very easy to read from if you have no croc clips. (Stop stealing by croc clips!!!)
