1. No fuse spur to heater (hard wired straight to MCB with correct size cable and MCB for heater)- Im thinking code 2?
This isnt an issue as the MCB can be used as local isolation (not best practice but not against regs)
2. No isolator/fuse spur to curtain heater (hard wired straight to MCB with...
I'm with stroma too, I find the notifications online much easier and for £288 you cant grumble at all. I reckon they will grow and grow as more and more sparks get tired of being ripped off for what equates to one day on site by an assessor and then bugger all else every year. The...
Am i being sill here or should you only be testing between Line and Earth for a Ze (nothing to do with neutral?as its the EARTH FAULT LOOP IMPEDANCE TEST) PFC you go between L-E and then L-N if your tester cant handle going between the phases the highest result is then doubled but if it can...
Found the issue!!!
The kitchen sockets were run as spurs from spurs from spurs etc!! it turns out the feed from the kitchen comes from one socket upstairs that then went into a JB in the ceiling of the kitchen Extension and then splits into 2 radials. None of the cables fused down. There was a...
Yeah tried all these guys thanks, cant be 100% that nothing is plugged in but washing machine, cooker, hob and boiler all on different circuits.
All FCU's switched off or fused removed and no neons on this circuit.
The strange thing is that it shows as a short on all conductors, i would have...
My sister has an RCD that constantly trips out, I've narrowed the fault to her ring main.
end to end results are fine but the IR results at 250v (done at this voltage in case any items still plugged in that i cant find) are showing dead short between all conductors. I have unplugged...
I was taught at college that using the flylead option is fine but my boss prefers me to disconnect and use a choc block as one lad that worked for his once livened up the board without taking out the link (not good)

the only issue with that is that the other 2 non winning parties have a majority if they combine in voting on bills and such, therefore the "winning" party doesnt have control of the house that we have the condems in the first place

in my humble opinion we need to ditch the perpetual motion idea because as has already been said once you draw any energy from it it will inevitable fail. i think we need to be concentrating more on pv as we are millenia behind the most basic lants and trees on harnessing the suns energy, if we...

you are right with your original post but you can have domestic circuits that are over 32A for example a shower over 8.5Kw would require a 40A MCB/ fuse but like i said your op is correct
I have just done my 206 and we had 6mm "tails" and 4mm earth running through steel conduit as pvc single protected by a 32 amp breaker
How did you get on by the way?
Hi Guys
I've been with my uncle to price a job but i think he's overpriced it, I wonder if you guys would give me an idea of what you would charge.
ITs a new kitchen extension the way that he wants to do it is take a 10mm SWA from the meter through tail splitters along the outside wall and...
