    What is wrong with bonding plastic water pipes and plastic gas pipes ?

    I know once you see plastic entering then you don’t need to bond as it says on site guide.(enters the house plastic then it’s metal) Would I be in wrong if I have earthed the plastic gas pipes ? Can someone point me in right direction in on site guide if it’s wrong and why it’s wrong ?

    TT system and gas bond

    Doing some bits for an old boy and checked the bonding, the gas bond does not go back to the DB or MET, but is staked right next to the main earth rod. I suppose it will effectively put the pipework in the same equipotential zone as the main earth, but just why make your life harder?

As this is not a fixed gas feed but only a gas cylinder I guess this still requires an earth bond from the DB?     As regards OSG on electrical apparatus distance from gas pipes. I am running a gas bond on an outside wall. I was just going to p clip it close to the gas pipe itself. Or cable tie it to the pipe?? No rules on distance when its a bonding conductor?? Thanks.

    Arcing on gas bond

    Hi got a problem with a PIR I am doing got small arcing when putting bond on to main gas pipe getting .5v when measured across pipe and bond had gas board out they proved that incoming pipe is in plastic disconnected all earths and still getting it discon earths and neutrals still getting it.
