There is one in stock in Aberdeen, if that is any help!

I'm finding now that I'm buying all-metal consumer units fully populated (mostly MK and BG, but the odd Wylex as well). And because I always try to leave several spare ways, I'm getting left with a mounting collection of MCBs. So I looked at trying to buy all-metal CUs that were not filled up with MCBs, to try to use the surplus up, but is just isn't worth it - sometimes a fully populated unit is hardly much more than a case & dual RCD unit.

MCBs are something that just accumulate in my van until I tidy up and get rid. I generally try and keep a few of each brand and rating, also a variety of old and new so that if I ever have to put another breaker in an existing board, I can get it as close as possible to original looks.

I bought a couple of 'empty' dual RCD BG boards to use up my stock of spare MCBs, always seem of end up with a load of 40a and 32a. :D

Not in stock anywhere near me, also showing a price of £100

Maybe that's the Screwfix price rather than Electricfix ? I just thought with the RCDs and RCBOs included it was an offer I couldn't refuse. :smile5:

Just got the last one nearish to me. But then

Some one beat me to it!

And then I got an email saying the order is being processed.... Confused....

That's a shame mate, or did you get it in the end ?

They rang me today to say it had arrived in. From where I don't know as they only listed one in stock, and none seem to be available for delivery from their national hub. Anyway, it's at least £170 worth of bits for future use. Just wished the RCBO ratings were a little more varied. Not used a 10A OCPD of any type for a few years! Thanks for the heads up on it mate.

Ah a good result then mate. :) I suppose the 10a could be handy for a storage heater circuit [1.7kw version or less, or maybe a bathroom heater point -something like that]. But I haven't used a 10a OCPD for ages either.
They also have the BG 'Garage' and 'Shower' small CUs with 40 and 63a RCDs respectively for £15 each so I bought a pair of each. ;)

I was thinking shop lighting circuit. Got a biggish shop to do in the new year so might get some use out of it quite soon. Quids in!!

Got quite a lot of BG breakers as surplus and usually sway towards Hager. Did you find the cheap gear on the clearance section? I should look there more often if so!

Yes that would be a good use for the 10a - they might be 'C' type too so ideal if a load of flourescents or discharge lighting is firing up at once.
I just did a search on all the CUs thinking there could be some bargains as Jan 1st looms closer.;)

They do come in handy occasionally with large lighting circuits with lots of LED's

Recently ripped out a load of decent track lighting and fitted ccts for new LEDs. Needed type C's due to the inrush currents for them. But a commercial landlord I do a fair bit of work for will be offered cut-rate track lighting for his newest acquisition! He loves a bargain!

My local has a few of these which is like to get for the cheap rcbos to put into new metal boards. I see this insulated board is full of NSB range devices. Does anyone know of the compatibility with new boards and devices ? I thought it was all NHX now ?

if anyone near derby wants some there are 3 in stock near me at clydebank.

i can pick up and bring them down if you like

Nothing remotely wrong in any way with a 10A circuit breaker for a domestic lighting circuit either. In many parts of the world it is the norm.
