Finally Praise!

Been working as a mate on site for a month, was work experience there for a few months prior.

Today the Sparks I'm working under said with some surprise 'oh you did that fast. You're getting better. Actually - you're very good.' FINALLY SOME RECOGNITION! :hurray:
Have had to work twice as hard with half the fuss and ten times the abuse of anyone else there. Isn't it nice when someone notices! (Now if only he mentions this to the bosses. What's the betting that'll never happen, let's not ask for the moon...)

Your boss sounds like old school, he's only going to give you praise when you've done something above and beyond. There's nothing wrong with that, at least you know when he says something good about you then you've really earned it.

Nowadays the latest trend is that American positive reinforcement rubbish where they give constant praise to encourage learners whether they deserve it or not so it just becomes meaningless which doesn't work for me.
