The youth of today? I have taught them from scratch up to and including 2 way with intermediate lighting circuit. They can draw the wiring diagram, do a sketch of the layout, identify and correctly select the appropriate materials, tools and the like to do the job without supervision.

But......today, they all had to replace a two page document in their portfoilio's with a single page one. After 10 minutes one of them shout out, Howard I am confused...........HEAD, BANG, WALL, HEAD, BANG, WALL. How difficult can it be to replace 1 bloody page, the mind boggles.:6:

I was working on an electrical fault and I was saying to the guy giving me a hand what the problem was hold on hold on he said I am not taking this in so I explained again but not a jot the thing is he was time served at 32 years old I still think you want to learn opposed to you need to learn

And both apprentices failed am2 last week because lighting neutrals went to switches on test and they never done it that way before (they were given a wiring diagram)
