Hi Guys,

My 4th Year apprentice is just about to finish his exams & NVQ's, what do you think the going rate is??

dont pay him.. sack him and get a new apprentice!!! cheaper...

lol

seriously the way i look at pay and stuff is HOW MUCH WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE OFFERED if your in his position!! keep in mind is he a good asset and will he stay with company long term / do you want him to stick around??

best person to ask is the spark in question, find out how much he would like or even better NEEDS to be able to live on! (serious note) and take that in to consideration, i find that if you pay is above average for his skills he will stay happy and produce better results.

pay him peanuts and unfortunately only monkeys turn up for them...!!

lol, but he is quite useful now.

He is after £12.50 but I think that is far too much as we are a small company & not JIB. Can't blame him for being ambitious though!

bear in mind that he still just newly qualified and with a NVQ and full Time served would probably compare him to the jib rates electrical improver or electrician...!! 10-11 per hour!! 70-80 a day !!??

£70x5 days = £350 (£273 after NI and TAX)

£18200 Gross a YEAR!??? sounds ok to me for a fresh out box time served..!!

was thinkin of gettina desire... Great reviews, but all users seem to hate it.

I would strongly advise you not to get the desire.

  • Battery is terrible - will not last a day for me.
  • Can't see the screen in sunlight
  • For some reason its laggy (I have got a taskmanager and killed everything non essintial)
  • Won't charge off a USB socket - requires a 1000mA Charger (USB 500mA)
  • Googles sat nav isn't funny anymore (Co Pilot is pretty good though)

I'm trying to palm mine off to my wife at the moment  lol
