Loss of local competitor???

Every now and then I browse a certain competitors website to see if they have made any alterations. I also browse the internet to see where else they may be advertising.

I performed the same search this evening and I can no longer find their website. Not even on Elecsa contractor list anymore? When I type in the web address or go on to Elecsa it comes back "Account Suspended"???

Now this chap was a member but hasn't been on since July but I clicked the link that he provided in his profile and exactly the same comes back.

I'll be completely honest, we parted company due to a conflict of interest which has partly fuelled my ambition to become more successful... I only saw him a few weeks ago driving around in his van so I'm intrigued now. I feel like jumping in my van and taking a trip around to his address to see if his van is still about :lol:

I can understand where your coming from but it's still sad, always makes me sad to think that another man has lost his lively hood, personal conflict or not!.

I'm not hoping he's gone bust, the guy had a real drive to succeed even if his attitude towards people who worked with him sucked. I'm just intrigued to know where he's gone. I'm sure there's a logical explanation it just now means he's the one with the upper hand if he's still trading and I'm going to have to go out of my way to find out if I really want to know lol

I would not gloat too much on this first of all could you expand on the conflict of interest ? plus yep he could have 5 numbers and a bonus ball come up or he visited his GP who told him he had 6 months I think what I am trying to say is There for the Grace of God Go I i think you know the rest.

Also just to add a pal of mines has had to go off for 3 months so I have stepped in to pick up his work no agreement just the fact that 2 individuals trust and respect each other and when he is ready to return I will step aside and even if the customer of his main contract invites me to how can I put this ................... Cut his throat for his business it just aint going to happen not that I would let his feelings bother me its just that every morning I have to stand in front of the mirror for a shave and thats one guy I could not look in the eye if I took his work

I am totally with you on that one Oldtimer , if there were more like this in our industry it would not now be on its knees like it is !

We have got another sparks in the village where our yard is based just outside of , in fact his house is only about 50ft away from where our office is , he is solely domestic and although we do take on domestic we try to stay away if possible , anyway he had to have some time of last year and we got to hear it on the grapevine so i went to see him and offered one of our blokes at cost if he needed any work finishing / breakdowns .
The look on his face was as if i had asked him for his first born !

Having said that about 3 years ago we had a bit of bad luck with one of our mates that me and my other director grew up with in said village , he had bummed from job to job and was van driving up north when his wife asked if we would take him on and train him up if he moved back , we even offered for him to become a share holding director anyway the day after he was qualified enough to register with napit he cleared off with about 80k worth of work he had been poaching and doing favours at our cost over the time he was with us !
You can always be to trusting and generous at times !

Well yes, I could expand indeed but I don't see it as very fair considering the fact that he is not currently here to defend anything I say!

Also, as this chap is a member and I do believe there is a sticky at the top of this forum explaining that the Arms is not for slagging members off?

I didn't see my comments as gloating at all. If anyone had seen the time that I posted this thread and then read the part about me jumping in my van to go around they may have put 2 and 2 together to see what I thought was amusing.
