Hi all,
This is an enquiry to fellow members who have pre-school kids. I was just wondering what the dads and grandads on here think of the kid's programme 'Fireman Sam?' For those of you who ain't familiar with it; its basically an educational programme aimed at the pre-school age range. I believe that it came about after constant complaints to the BBC about a stupid programme called the Tellytubbies. Anyway Fireman Sam aims to try to educate very young children about various dangers that they may experience!!! The content of this programme ranges from informing toddlers that they should shut gates to fields, the errors of crying wolf, to the importance of smoke detectors. Anyway, we had the nephew (aged 4) over for the day today, and he pointed out to the missus THAT our smoke alarm WAS bleeping. AND it bloody well was as well. A brilliant educational programme.

What do you expect? Fireman Sam is Welsh!! And he's been around way before the Teletubbies.

Have a look at the swearing Fireman Sam on Youtube. It's well funny.

Electro is it true that the creator of Fireman Sam was a woman; married to a Firefighter?

I used to like rainbow when i was small. wasn`t zippy a selfish, rude, ignorant t**t...! Come across "zippies" all the time when i am out installin with my boss....

Unfortunately mate, they don't have a zip that you can lock up. I wanted to dangle a mouthy little t*** over the side from 4 floors up the other day, when the gobby little s*** mouthed off behind my back. However when I turned around to confront him and his hoody crew, they all bloody ran for it. Mouthy little gits.

Fireman sam's actually been around since the 80s in wales. It is an amazing programme, except for that prat Norman, who I wouldn't throw a concrete block to if he was drowning. I hope you get a lump of coal for Christmas, Norman Price. Maybe then you'll learn some respect, you ginger pain-in-the-arse.

i knew there was something lacking in my education... never even seen fireman sam, postman pat, or even teletubbies. do remember as a child watching muffin the mule... that's an offence nowadays, i believe.
