So I have been with elecsa since the beginning of May last year and my first year is nearly up, Do I need to contact them in regards to signing up for next year as I'm just concerned they haven't made contact with me and I'm assuming I will require a re assessment , thanks.

Your registration card usually lasts a bit more than a year to allow time for the next assessment to be planned.
I am sure they will take the direct debit within the next month and then contact you to arrange an assessment but it may not be for a while.
