Ah my copy is from 2009 (a mate lent it me) and then you could only use five sockets on 1.5mm and eight on 2.5mm. Should probably get an updated version.
I'd always used Makita but my recent experience with them is shocking too. And they're expensive.
The little 12v impact driver i've got is pretty good with a full battery but the cordless equivalent is the worst drill i've ever used aside from a green Bosch. The chuck came loose so you can...
The hours for the practical are the same, you just do the theory at home beforehand, taking however long you want before booking the practical. You get access to a private tutor the whole time to guide you through anything you don't know, so in effect it's not much different from doing it in...
For anyone else that's interested, you can actually self-study as a distance option for the levels 2 and 3 as JAWS says, with practical assignments to be completed at the test centre.
It actually works out cheaper than just outright paying for the in-centre course.
Thanks for the reply Derek. I am considering the self-study option if it's possible. I have little experience in electric and zero experience of UK electrics so it's probably not an option for me.
I could definitely self-study the theory but i'm sure there are practical requirements?
For example, in the UK i know you can eg do an A Level at home (if for example you're homeschooled) and then simply sit the exam at a recognised examination centre, paying a small fee.
Is this possible with the C&G?
I'd always been a Makita kinda guy but i must say i'm not impressed whatsoever by their recent stuff, from about 2016 onwards. The chucks on the cordless drills are absolutely dreadful and the battery life leaves a lot to be desired.
They used to be my go-to but all i can assume is they've...
I've asked several colleges and training providers now 'what is needed to complete the NVQ3' and nobody will actually give me an answer.
I keep getting 'portfolio showing comptence'.
So....anyone who has done it - what actual jobs are needed to be able to pass the NVQ3? Are there any in there...
Thanks so much everyone for your patience and understanding. I think i understand it now. I no doubt will be back with more noob questions. Is there a forum section for 'idiotic questions' or similar? I have a feeling i will need to be posting in such a place quite a lot in the upcoming...
