Hi, in it's failed state did you test the solenoids resistance? A faulty solenoid would cause problems with low flow which if faulty would shut off the water going through the shower, think a shower solenoid resistance should be above 3ohms. Worth a quick try.
Agree with truckster, are the switch wire and the feed in the same cable. To understand it a bit better, get a couple of metres of twin and earth connect the live and earth in a plug top leave the blue disconnected out of the plug and terminate the wires at the other end in block connectors...
http://www.electriciansforums.net/electrical-forum-general-electrical-forum/36282-strange-voltage-readings-has-anyone-else-tried.html am not sure, not done this myself but would fitting a resistor parallel to the first light help to dissapate the voltage in the floating wire back to neutral.
Hi dogwind, i've had this on circuits before, never as much as 240v though. I tried to check it out with a bit of 3 core and earth, i connected it to a plugtop live neutral and earth, and left one wire floating(not connected to anything) connected the floating wire to a lamp holder with the...
Hi crosswire, could be a plumbing problem, when you say that the pressure rises is that the pressure in boiler? If so could be a faulty expansion vessel/tank, could also be a faulty pump or air in the system (plumbers problem).
