I hear you but my experience with (multiple) electricians has not been a sure fire way to success unfortunately. Hello Finally getting round to add more light circuits to the bedrooms beyond the existing one pendant. Most of it fairly easy, but 2 things are not 100% on: 1) wardrobe lights: where do you normally clip the wire for it to protrude from the plaster i.e. anywhere behind the future wardrobe...- Mjward

Right had good dialogue with Varilight on this. It seems not possible in the format I want because LED tape requires TRIAC Leading edge dimmers and LED downlights require Trailing edge i.e. no easy fix to have them combined to same switch. No big deal, have decided to just make the main room...- Mjward

One more to add... 3) the 2x bedside switches will be 3-gang modular dimmers with 1x 1-way for the bedside light and 2x 3-way for the other 2 circuits and other 2 switches. Been a while since I've been able to add to this thread (thankfully). Ripping out a partition in a downstairs toilet and reminded why I like to do it myself... Slowly Was not expecting the inside of the door frame to be used as a route, nor for the partition frame to be butchered for access...- Mjward

Unfortunately even putting the wires that were taped together into a junction box didn't solve the issue. Given I've mapped the entire circuit, changed all sockets, checked all junction boxes, the earth issue must lie at the CU. I am comfortable with most domestic electrics but won't touch a...- Mjward

Continuous earth fault
Completed mapping of entire circuit. Changed all sockets, a few had loose connections but broadly everything was where it should be. Socket tester still showing earth fault. Have identified one shocker of a connection below, hoping it this causing the fault. Failing that, will have to check CU...- Mjward
