    Solar Inverter Go Boom Boom

    This happened on the works array over they weekend. Lost most of the magic smoke from it, don’t think l’ll get it all back in again. Also fried the DC isolation so couldn’t isolate, had to crack open the emergency rubber gloves and matt. Enjoy!

    FFS, gate contractor, stuck cable.

    Any suggestions welcome. The gate company has pulled the draw cord out of the flexi conduit inside the brick pillar and left behind a blockage of tape by the looks of it. The pillar has been back filled so no chance of getting inside. Ive got the bore scope down and you can see the mess...

    Looks a squeeze, 240 swa thoughts.

    Have a 250kW motor with the terminal box in the photo. To me it looks a proper squeeze to bend in the conductors. Thoughts? Other options I can think of is allowing the use of SY on this cable only or parallel cables.

    Outdoor LED flood dimmer?

    Resistance of a transformer windings.

    Does any of you clever chaps know what the resistance of a 5kVA transformer should be? It's a 240-110 CTE. I have a resistance of 0.16 Ohms (1400A) If I recall what little transformer theory I covered years ago the impedance will increase when energised but how much I have no idea...
