I've passed my 2330 l2 but can't get into electrical work however many calls, emails, blah blah..... anyway i've been offered some tiling/ plumbing work renovating bathrooms, have any of you on here found employees or employers from other trades on site?- Aaronj46

Every Trade can "do" electrics
Just had call. "Had bathroom ceiling plastered & bathroom light won't work - any ideas?" Anyone can "do" electrics, its only sticking wires in stuff! Lol- NJG28

Blacklisting of trades
As mentioned in the news yesterday. The five big construction companies are arranging with the unions some form of compensation for all those blacklist individuals who objected/whistleblew about devious and dodgy practices. Does anybody have any more news about this?- ackbarthestar

What has happened to the trade?
It seems that every time I check out the forum, so called qualified sparks are asking the most basic questions such as help my rcd is tripping, how do I test? Etc. So many chancers about nowadays who wouldnt know the first thing about fault finding and think Ra is a school subject. As for these...- baldyspark

trade direct insurance
I'm registered with benchmark, last year they contacted me to say I had to buy insurance to cover my work against faults for 6 years in case I was unable to work went bust or retired etc, I tried to say it was a load of crap but they insisted it was a government essential and they couldn't renew...- guinnessgixer

Insurance for multiple trades...
It's that time of year and I have to get my public liability insurance to satisfy the scheme. I'm often offered work on the side as I'm a reasonably decent plasterer and plumber (sorry!), so thinking that I should probably get my insurance to cover my non-electrical work.
